Running the race for Christ

Our Christian lives are liken to a race. Many times, along the road, we faced discouragements and its easy for us to lose sight of the big picture. We are easily stumbled when we look away from our Lord Jesus, at ourselves, or the circumstances surrounding us. Let us be reminded that God allows discouragements in our race to help us to grow in our spiritual lives. Ultimately, let us be encouraged to keep our focus on our Lord Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, to run the race for Christ with patience, perserverance and gladness.

Hebrews 12: 1-3
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

1 Peter 1: 7
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

Nothing is proven worthy unless being tested. Just as the way examinations work presently in our lives, they put our lessons learnt through tests. Therefore, let us learn to accept trials of our faith as part of the refining process that burns away impurities, preparing us to meet our Lord Jesus Christ.

James 1: 2-3
2 My brethen, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

Encourage one another to face difficulties in our lives and also in service to the Lord. Things may seem dim initially( re-structuring of our YF), but continue to labour ourselves for the Lord, with faith,patience and perserverance, keeping focus on Jesus Christ, knowing at the end of the day that our labour is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 15: 58
58 Therefore, my beloved brethen, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

In His Love,
Lifeng
